This villa is completely private, walled and fenced. It is set in beautiful countryside, yet is only 10 minutes walk from the historic spa village of Carratraca where the famous Roman spa baths have just been renovated

 

Villa Cuatro Vientos has high quality accommodation for up to 4 people. There are 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry/utility room with washing machine, ironing facilities and a large living area with feature log fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped, with oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave etc, plenty of storage space and an attractive marble working surface. Satellite TV, DVD, video games and English books are provided. Patio doors lead from the lounge to the veranda overlooking the good sized pool (7.5x4m). There are terraces all around the villa with stunning views, sun loungers, table , chairs, barbecue and parking for 2 cars. Carratraca is the gateway to the area known by the Spanish as the Andalucian Lake District. It is only 40min drive from Malaga airport or 90min from Granada airport. The famous Costa del Sol resorts (Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Marbella)are within 45min drive, but at Villa Quatro Vientos you will experience a completely different world- the real Spain.

Within 10 minutes drive from the villa you will find beautiful turquoise lakes surrounded by pine trees where you can swim, fish and hire pedalos or canoes. Carratraca is a classic white village typical of the area, but unusually has a luxury spa baths. A Parador restaurant opens at weekends serving excellent reasonably priced meals, while the local bar/restaurants adjacent to the public spa offer 4 course lunches from €6. There is a local baker, butcher, fishmonger and the bank has an ATM machine. This is a beautiful area of Inland Spain- unspoilt, laid back and friendly, yet easily accessible

The villa was everything you could wish for - had all the mod cons and was very comfortable. The pool was completely private and the views from the villa amazing. The local village had small shops and several restaurants (El Parador being a favourite) -. - take a phrase book as all menus (and waiters!) in spanish. Make the effort to go out and explore. Fantastic scenery all around, pretty local towns and if prepared for a day out Gibraltor easily reachable. Local lakes provide a pleasant day out. though to avoid the crowds don't go at the weekend. If touristy places are a drawer Malaga is 45 minutes away and Mijas close. However this holiday would suit people who want to get away from the crowds and have a truely relaxing and spanish experience. . We had a wonderful holiday and would like to thank the Highams for helping making it so. I wouldn't hesitate ( and infact have!) to recommend this area and villa to friends and family
